Serax (also known under the brand names Oxazepam, Purata, Medopam, Noripam, Opamox, Alepam or Ox-Pam) is a form of prescription medication used in the treatment of severe anxiety, insomnia and the control of symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.

Many manufacturers are selling this drug under one of the above brand names. However, we are going to review the one offered by Wyeth Inc. The company is now part of Pfizer Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical company located in the United States.

Please note that Serax is a metabolite of diazepam, prazepam, and temazepam. This drug has moderate anxiolytic, hypnotic, amnesic, anticonvulsant, sedative and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.

This is a form of prescription medication that is recommended as a treatment for severe forms of anxiety and insomnia. It is never recommended to purchase and take this drug without close medical supervision.

Serax includes the following ingredients: Methylparaben, Corn Starch, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Croscarmellose Sodium, Gelatin, and Magnesium.
