      Hello Elizabeth,

Have you tried your son on IntellQ yet? My son is also on Vyvanse and has not been on it for the summer, and I am considering putting him on it. How old is your son, and his weight/heigth? If you have started him on it, what dose did you give him and did you notice a difference? I really do not want to put my son back on Vyvanse but he needs it for concentration!

      Thank you
      Windi B.

      Hi Elizabeth,

It can be difficult transitioning from prescription medication to natural supplementation because prescription medicine is usually so strong and unnaturally so. By design it changes the way certain chemicals act in the body which affects the natural order of the body.

IntelleQ is a multinutrient supplement of various vitamins, essential nutrients and a few herbs. The concentration of the formula is largely based on ingredients commonly known to enhance cerebral activity like focus, concentration and attentiveness.

The best method is to reduce the dose of the prescription medication while taking lower than suggested dose of the natural supplement and monitor your child during this transition. For instance, take 1 tablet of Vyvanse every other and take 1 tablet of IntelleQ on those off days. If you don’t notice any negative changes in your son go a step further. 1/2 tablet of Vyvanse and continue to increase the IntelleQ dose.

Doing so should allow you to transition your son off of the prescription medication with minimal side effects.
