Is Bug Out Repellent: Citronella/Lemongrass Right For You?

Bug Out Repellent: Citronella/Lemongrass is an herbal spray based on citronella and lemongrass promoted as an effective solution for keeping insects away from you. The formula was developed by Way Out Wax.

Way Out Wax is a small company specialized in selling various types of candles (non-scent, soy, aromatherapy) and room sprays and mists. It is based in Vermont in the United States, and it has been on the market for some twenty years. It also has a product line called Bug Out! which consists of candles and body care sprays for keeping mosquitoes and other stinging insects away.

Bug Out Repellent: Citronella/Lemongrass does not contain synthetic repellents and chemicals. It is entirely environmentally friendly and based only on natural ingredients. It contains soy and essential oils which may keep flies and mosquitoes away when you are outdoor, for instance in recreational areas, near bushes or trees. The oil acts by keeping insects away not by harming them. What it does is prevent insects from finding a host because of its odor.

Bug Out Repellent: Citronella/Lemongrass is not promoted on the company’s website (in our view, the company might not manufacture it anymore), but there are some retailers still selling it.
